Should People Be Scared of Going to Hell, if They Are Doing the Right Thing?

Thank you for your question. A person who is doing what the Bible says should never be scared about his or her eternal salvation. When a person grows older, obeys the Gospel, becomes a Christian, and continues to obey the Lord (read 1 John 1:5-10), then God indicates that no one can take away the salvation that He has freely given (read John 10:28-29). Jesus died, and the Bible was revealed to mankind, so that “we might know that we have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).
Sadly, many people have been deceived into thinking that they are doing what is right, when actually they are not. For this reason, we should all read and study the Bible for ourselves (without relying on what everyone else tells us), and make sure that what we are doing is exactly what God wants us to do.
