AP Staff Spotlight: Kirk Ottinger, Director of Advancement
Spend five minutes with Kirk Ottinger, and you’ll know you’ve met someone who loves the Lord, loves people, and loves connecting the two. Since joining Apologetics Press in January 2024, Kirk has quickly become one of the most recognizable—and most energetic—faces of AP.
Kirk is a man of many talents and many connections—literally around the world. From Alaska to West Africa, from Costa Rica to Ukraine, his network of relationships spans continents and cultures. Yet his purpose in every one of those connections is the same: partnering with others to draw people closer to Christ and to one another. Whether introducing someone to the work of AP for the first time or helping place a Bible into the hands of someone who has never owned one, Kirk thrives on advancing the Kingdom.
His role as Director of Advancement is quite demanding and inspiring. One week, he might be running the AP booth at Polishing the Pulpit in Sevierville, Tennessee; the next, he’s having lunch with elders and mission-minded Christians in Houston, Texas, sharing the great things God is doing through AP. (By the way, he’d love to talk to you about AP, too!)
In addition to his relationship-building efforts, Kirk helps facilitate the distribution of AP materials to prison ministries, preaching schools, and Christian universities. He also assists with marketing and social media efforts, helping expand the reach of AP’s many free online resources to new audiences at home and abroad.
What truly sets Kirk apart isn’t just his communication skills or global connections—it’s his heart. He loves the Word of God (especially the book of Proverbs!). He rejoices in seeing others come to know Christ. And he is passionate about helping Christians grow in knowledge, faith, and unity.
Kirk is, in every sense, a “people person” who understands that every handshake, every conversation, and every connection is ultimately for the glory of God. Apologetics Press is truly blessed to have Kirk on our team—a tireless and courageous ambassador for Truth and unity, and a powerful encourager to all who know him.
