Eyes Help Us See God

If a friend asks you, “How do you know God exists?,” what would you say? There are several different ways to answer this question. Sometimes we find evidence in the design of our bodies that proves God’s existence.

One good example of design is the human eye. It is so complicated that it could not have happened by accident, as evolution teaches. The human eye can see both in color and black and white. It focuses on objects up close, or far away, automatically. The eyelid “blinks” 3-6 times a minute to moisten and clean the eye. Tears also help clean the eye, killing bacteria that could cause an eye infection. They eye gathers over 80% of the knowledge that goes into the brain. Each eye is connected to the brain by over 600,000 nerves that send messages to the brain at 300 miles per hour! Scientists tell us the eye receives 1.5 million messages at the same time, sorts through them, and sends them to the brain.

The Bible says, “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God” (Hebrews 3:4). If there is design, there must be a designer. If the Universe, or animals, or plants, or humans have been designed, then there must have been a Designer, Who could only be God!
