Exodus 20:11
“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the Earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”
32% of Americans believe in theistic evolution, meaning they
believe in God, but also believe in evolution and an old Earth.
Those evolutionists usually argue that the description of
the Creation week in Genesis one is not what it appears to be.
They allege that a gap could be added between verses one and
two, or that the days could have been figurative and longer
than literal days. Either way, instead of the Universe being
created in six days, supposedly it was created over eons of time
as evolutionary theories teach. Exodus 20:11 refutes such
claims, since it teaches that space and the Earth, as well as all
that are in them (i.e., everything), were created in six days—not
six eons. Moses, inspired by God, taught that those Creation
days were literal days, since the Jews kept the Sabbath day after
every six literal days of every literal week. If they
did not keep the Sabbath day correctly, they would
have been executed (Exodus
31:14; Numbers 15:32-36).
Clearly, the Universe
was created in six
literal days.
