“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it
will be opened.”
Have you ever wondered, “How could a loving and just God
condemn all those individuals who die, having never heard
the Gospel? People raised in Muslim and atheist homes? People
living primitive lives, away from Christianity and the Bible,
in the deep parts of the jungle or in the wild parts of Africa?
Surely He wouldn’t! Maybe a person doesn’t have to become a
Christian or obey everything in the Bible to be saved.” Passages
like Matthew 7:7-8 and Matthew 5:6 help to give God’s answer to
such questions. Anyone who is sincerely searching for the truth
is guaranteed by God to have an opportunity to hear it. God will
ensure such an opportunity through His amazing providence.
After that, it’s up to the individual whether or not he will accept
the truth. Bottom line: “Truly, these times of ignorance
God overlooked, but now commands all men
everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). Jesus said, “I am
the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the
Father except through
Me” (John 14:6).
